On Books, Reading

A favorite free time activity of mine is to read books on a variety of topics. While I read fiction occasionally, I mainly focus on personal development, biographies, and technical books. Personal development as a book genre has a conceited connotation when talked about in my opinion. But I believe everyone should engage in at least one kind of personal development endeavor at any given time, and reading is a great way to put that into action. The books listed below are what I refer to as "Top Shelfers," books that have had the most significant influence in making a positive change in my life. Biographies are another favorite of mine, which I enjoy most to hear people's life stories, the different hardships and challenges they faced, and how they overcame them. I also have a goal to always be reading a least one book that is technical in nature, being related to programming in general or specific to the Python language (see On Learning Python, Programming).
